100% recycled polyester rPET interlock with a waterproof and breathable laminate coating.
Few words about this fabric
This polyester 100% rPET fabric, is backed with a waterproof and breathable laminate coating. PUL means “Polyurethane Laminated” – safe and certified polyurethane film, permanently bonded to fabric using a unique thermal process without toxic solvents.
This GRS certified membrane is itself composed of 40% polyurethane from pre-consumer recycling, that is to say integrating production ‘breaks’, manufacturing scraps, trimmings, cuts … in short the waste generated by the production itself.
This fabric was originally designed for the medical industry because of its robustness to repeated washing and to sterilization process using heat steam.
rPET PUL fabric is thin, dries very quick and suits projects intended for repeated and frequent washing at 60°C. It is perfect for creation reusable items like baby dippers or sanitary pads. Thanks to its vaporising properties, moisture will be kept from passing through however the heat is able to escape. This fabric is very persistent, with a right care, nappy can be reused for years, lasting for couple of children.
Our rPet PUL is also food contact certified and is perfect for making “zero waste” accessories, like reusable bowl or plate covers fridge storage, lunch bags, sandwich wrapping, pouches for fruits etc
